UNDERGRADUATE COURSES

Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and Technology

Program description

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Construction Management & Technology at ICMT prepares students for the operational and managerial aspects of working in the construction industry. Students will be exposed to all facets of residential building including construction methods and requirements; land to project development; and the managerial aspects of overseeing a project, its planning and projections.

Admissions requirements

Admission to the bachelor’s degree programs requires a high school transcript showing graduation from the high school, completion of a GED, or two years of completed college coursework (at least 60 semester credits of college level courses) at an institution of higher education accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Graduation requirements

  • The degree will be awarded upon completion of 124 credits which is outlined in the program of study. 
  • Cumulative grade point average must be “C”, 2.0, or higher.
  • Have resolved all financial obligations to ICMT.
  • Complete OSHA-10 training.
  • Complete LEED training for Construction Managers.

 


GRADUATE COURSES

Master of Business Administration in Construction Management

Program description

The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Construction Management at ICMT prepares students for managerial opportunities, particularly in the construction field. Students will focus on key elements of business: leadership, ethics, global thinking, management skills, and technological innovation. In addition, students will learn about corporate construction structure, legal and current issues in the industry, and develop a specialized project guided by a mentor from the construction industry.

Admissions requirements

Admission to the master’s degree programs requires a bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Construction Management & Technology or from an institution of higher education accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Graduation requirements

  • The degree will be awarded upon completion of 36 credits which is outlined in the program of study. 
  • Cumulative grade point average must be “C”, 2.0, or higher.
  • Have resolved all financial obligations to ICMT.
  • Complete OSHA-30 training.
  • Complete LEED training for Construction Managers.

Program requirements

The master’s degree requires a total of 36 semester credits at the graduate level beyond the bachelor’s degree.

  • A minimum of 30 credits of instruction must be completed through the university.
  • A maximum of 6 semester credits of graduate-level credits completed at an accredited college or university with course grades of “B” or better may be accepted in transfer towards the degree. Course work taken more than 7 years ago may be evaluated for currency of content in the subject area.
  • Courses must be appropriate to the graduate program subject area.
  • Completion of all subject area competency requirements for the graduate program.
  • Cumulative grade point average must be “B”, 3.0, or higher.

 

 

Global Executive Master of Business Administration in
Construction Management and Technology

Program Description

The Global Executive Master of Business Administration in Construction Management and Technology (G.E.M.B.A.) degree prepares students for senior level opportunities, particularly in the construction field. Students will focus on key elements of global management: leadership, ethics, entrepreneur thinking, international law, and technological innovation. In addition, students will learn about merger and acquisition, total quality management, and will develop a specialized capstone project guided by a executive from the construction industry.

Admissions requirements

Admission to the Global Executive MBA in Construction Management and Technology degree programs requires a bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Construction Management & Technology or from an institution of higher education accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Eight years of work experience 5 to have been in a managerial position. 

Graduation requirements

  • The degree will be awarded upon completion of 51 credit hours which is outlined in the program of study. 
  • Cumulative grade point average must be “B”, 3.0, or higher.
  • Have resolved all financial obligations to ICMT.
  • Complete OSHA-30 training.
  • Complete LEED training for Construction Managers.

Program requirements

The master’s degree requires a total of  51 semester credits at the graduate level beyond the bachelor’s degree.

  • A minimum of 45 credits of instruction must be completed through the university.
  • A maximum of 6 semester credits of graduate-level credits completed at an accredited college or university with course grades of “B” or better may be accepted in transfer towards the degree. Course work taken more than 7 years ago may be evaluated for currency of content in the subject area.
  • Courses must be appropriate to the graduate program subject area.
  • Completion of all subject area competency requirements for the graduate program.
  • Cumulative grade point average must be “B”, 3.0, or higher.  

 

 

Master of Science in Construction Technology

Program description

The Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Construction Technology at ICMT prepares students for the supervisory level of handling residential construction projects. Students will focus on the basics of construction technology including project scheduling, estimating and control; the legal and developmental aspects of the design process; and addressing issues of quality in residential projects.

The Home Remodeling Certificate is a course in home remodeling. Topics covered include selecting homes for remodeling, foreclosures, financing options and the major areas of remodeling a home.

Principles of bridge inspection will be covered.  Best practices and lessons learned from recent bridge defects will be explored.  Applicable federal and state laws, regulations and policies will be examined.

REFUND POLICY

Payment of Tuition:

Satisfactory arrangements for payment of tuition and other fees must be made between the student and the school prior to the students official start date.  Prorated payments to the school throughout the length of the program with no interest are accepted. The school accepts, cash, visa, and master card.  Students can secure their own loans through private lenders. 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Rejection:  An applicant rejected by the school is entitled to a refund of all monies paid

Three-Day Cancellation:  An applicant who provides written notice of cancellation within three days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and federal or state holidays) of signing an enrollment agreement is entitled to a refund of all monies paid.  No later than 30 days of receiving the notice of cancellation, the school shall provide the 100% refund.

Other Cancellations:  An applicant requesting cancellation more than three days after signing an enrollment agreement and making an initial payment, but prior to entering the school, is entitled to a refund of all monies paid minus a registration fee of $100. 

REFUND POLICY

The refund policy is based upon the length of each program in clock hours.  Refunds will be made within 30 days of termination or withdrawal.  Official date of termination or withdrawal will be made the last date of attendance if the student has not attended scheduled classes for 30 days.

Before beginning classes in a time period, a refund of 100% of the tuition charges for the time period.

100% Refund

If 10% or less of the time period has expired, a refund of at least 90% of the tuition charges for the time period.

90% Refund

If more than 10% but less than or equal to 20% of the time period has expired, a refund of at least 80% of the tuition charges for the time period.

80% Refund

If more than 20% but less than or equal to 30% of the time period has expired, a refund of at least 70% of the tuition charges for the time period.

70% Refund

If more than 30% but less than or equal to 40% of the time period has expired, a refund of at least 60% of the tuition charges for the time period.

60% Refund

If more than 40% but less than or equal to 50% of the time period has expired, a refund of at least 50% of the tuition charges for the time period.

50% Refund

If more than 50% of the time period has expired, no refund or a refund in an amount determined by the institution.

No Refund

 

Fees: None

Books and Supplies:  There is no refund for equipment, books and supplies received by the student.

Special Cases:  In case of prolonged illness or accident, death in the family, or other circumstances that make it impractical for the student to complete the program, the school may make a settlement which is reasonable and fair (optional language).

HOLDER IN DUE COURSE STATEMENT: “Any holder of this consumer credit contract is subject to all claims and defenses which the debtor could assert against the seller of goods or services obtained pursuant hereto or with the proceeds thereof. Recovery hereunder by the debtor shall not exceed amounts paid by the debtor (FTC Rule Effective 5/14/76.)”

The Institute of Construction Management & Technology complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and its amendments.
