ABOUT ICMT
HISTORY
The
Institute of Construction Management
& Technology (ICMT), founded in 2006, was developed to serve the need
for trained management and skilled workers in the residential building
industry.
The
University was developed to meet the need for educated management
by offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the areas
of construction management and construction technology with specialization
areas in construction operations, residential construction management,
and land management.
LICENSING/ACCREDITATION
ICMT is
provisionally licensed in the state of Arizona to award
undergraduate and graduate degrees in construction management and
technology.
ICMT is
accredited by
the Arizona Better Business Bureau
GENERAL
EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP
Rio Salado College,
one of the Maricopa Community Colleges, is the preferred provider of
the general education component of ICMT’s baccalaureate
programs. Rio Salado is fully accredited by the
Higher Learning Commission
of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Its
general education courses are offered online, and typically have
start dates every two weeks so that students can begin a given
course at their convenience.
DIPLOMA MILLS
According to the Council for Higher
Education Accreditation (CHEA), if
the answers to many of the following questions are “yes,” the degree
provider under consideration may be a “mill”.

ICMT degrees be purchased? NO.
Students must sign an enrollment agreement that states tuition and
fees for the program of
study. It also lists courses needed in order to earn a degree from
ICMT.

there a claim of accreditation when there is no evidence of this
status? NO.
ICMT recognizes the importance of accreditation and has
begun the accreditation
process from an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

organization?

4) Does the operation lack state or federal licensure or
authority to operate? NO.

5) Is little if any attendance required of students, either
online or in class? NO.
Students are
required to log into the online classroom to complete coursework on
a weekly basis. In addition, students are required to sign an
enrollment agreement which states the length of the program based on
credits needed to earn a degree from ICMT. Each credit represents 15
clock hours. Programs range from 540-1,860 clock hours.
6) Are few assignments required for students to earn credits?
NO.
Students are required to complete weekly discussion questions,
quizzes, examinations, term papers, group projects and/or other
assignments as directed by their professors.
7) Is a very short period of time required to earn a degree?
NO.
Students can earn
their undergraduate degree in about two-and-a-half years and the
graduate degree in about one-and-a-half years. Graduation times can
vary based on prior learning and transfer credit from other
universities.
8) Are degrees available based solely on experience or resume
review? NO.
The majority of the credits applied toward the
degree must be earned by successfully passing courses.
9) Are there few requirements for graduation? NO.
Students must complete 126 credits for an undergraduate degree and
36 credits for a graduate degree.
10) Does the operation fail to provide any information about a
campus or business location or address and rely, e.g., only on a
post office box? NO.
